This Recommended Practice covers best practice methods for the inspection, testing, mechanical repair, rewinding, assembly and acceptance testing; as well as recommended and maintenance practices for direct current electric motors and generators.

Purpose

The purpose of this recommended practice is to share institutional knowledge specific to the repair and maintenance of DC machines.
