Scope

This guide provides general information on the application and operation of separable connectors. It is intended to be basic, and supplement the manufacturer's specific recommendations and established utility practices.

Purpose

This guide covers the application of separable connectors, rated 601 V and above, 600 A or less, for use on power distribution systems. Included are design considerations and guidelines for the construction, installation, and operation of 200 A loadbreak connectors and for 200 and 600 A deadbreak (non-loadbreak) connectors.
