1.1This test method covers the determination of the water-soluble content of (unused) granular and powdered activated carbons. Water solubles are materials that can be extracted by distilled water under reflux conditions and are expressed as a percentage of dry carbon weight.

1.2The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard.
