AATCC 102-2002
Determination of Hydrogen Peroxide by Potassium Permanganate Titrationstandard by American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists, 01/01/2002
1. Purpose and Scope
1.1 This test method determines the concentration of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in aqueous solutions, particularly those used in textile bleaching.
2. Principle
2.1 A specimen is acidified with sulfuric acid and titrated with standardized potassium permanganate solution. The concentration of hydrogen peroxide is calculated using the volume and normality of the permanganate solution used.
